I'm trying to built a new system which will being running Win XP pro. I need some help in picking a MB. The thing

is that I want to do a gradual upgrade, because I don't have that much money to spent now.

So far this is what I plan to get in the first round of purchase.

(1st round)
xp 1800+ cpu and some kind of motherboard
MAXTOR 80GB 7200RPM Model # 6L080L4 (liquid bearings)
CODEGEN ATX-6044L-C10 midtower case
Dragon Orb 3 A1135 (copper)

(2nd round)
10k rpm scsi drive
1 or 2 GB of DDR ram

(3rd round)
MAXTOR 80GB 7200RPM Model # 6L080L4 (liquid bearings) to make a Raid0
Hi-end MB with built in raid and scsi (or at least on of the 2), higher ram support to about 3-4 Gigs

(4th round)
ATI FireGL 8800 128MB DDR or a Quadro 4 card

in the first round what i'm looking for is a MB that can support both SDram and DRR (up to 2Gig of ram would be

nice) and have a good onboard LAN. I want to be able move my 512 MB of SDRam from my old system to the new system,

because I just got it about 6-7 months ago.

I was look at the ECS K7AMA MB it has all the features that I want and it is cheap. However I'm seem to see mix

reviews about it. So now Im not sure. RIght now I have shop around and figure out that I can get all the parts I

mention for just about $370 for the 1st round upgrade.

any MB suggestions ?

by the way this the config of my old system:

k2 450 mhz cpu
FIA via 503+ Motherboard
512 mb SDRAM
Maxtor 20 gb 5400 rpm HD
old 6 gb HD
Teac 8x8x32x CR-RW
56 k modem
Diamond Fire GL 1000 pro
Diamond Monster II (vodoo 2 card)
scsi card - i use for my Jaz drive, but the Jaz drive isn't working ={

ECS k7s5a ($52 newegg) works with either sdram or ddram with onboard sound and lan.
