I am running XP Professional and Messenger 7 and use ICS to share 56k dialup
connection between 2 PC's. Most of the time Messenger makes a direct
connection to the internet, but every so often it will connect with http
proxy using isa server which causes messenger to lock up. Why would the
connection type change? I usually dial the ISP manually and then it
connects correctly. It seems that when Internet Explorer dials it causes
the different connection type. How can I fix this?
