Just purchased Majestic Chess and thought I'd try the online multiplayer
mode. Successfully created a new account, but whenever I try to connect to
the online server it doesn't do anything.

Couldn't find anything on the tech support pages. Am wondering if it is a
firewall issue. Anyone else have a similar experience or a fix?

Hi, I just purchased 2 copies of majestic chess so i could give one to my brother and play online. same thing happens though, says not connected??

i've emailed them but as of yet have still not received a reply. my firewall is not blocking it, i've checked that.

I would be grateful if you found a solution to let me know? thanks

Their website seems to be down, and the Majestic Chess portion of the Sierra Hoyle website doesn't seem to be running. You can download Winboard from several sites for free to play multiplayer chess online. I do like Majestic Chess's interface for playing against the computer, and the adventure is fun - but I think they've stopped supporting multiplayer.
