Motherboard upgrade question

I'm thinking about upgrading my Mobo and CPU but for whatever reason am anxious about doing so. When installing a new mobo and CPU do I have to reinstall Windows, or will it automatically detct the new hardware like it would a new soundcard or vid card?

CPU's can be changed without re-installation.

Motherboards need a new set-up.
