This is the error i get when i start the messenger : (This application has
failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem). i tried to reinstalling
it but the same error repeats it self. so,is there another way to fix it ?

Any microsoft expert could reply to the above question ?

Another thing about it that it trys to connect to the internet while it's
offline or signed out showing in the (task manager) CPU & memory usage ,but
in the log file in the Norton AntiVirus 2005 show's in (Activites) section
that the (msmsgs.exe) is preparing to access the internet.

So what seems to be the cause of this program to be active while it's
offline in (Windows XP Service Pack 2) ?

I can't figure out why microsoft add's (Work Offline) option for every and
each microsoft program in windows xp except for the Windows Messenger (all
version's).
i think this type of choice would stop the messenger from working in the
background like (preparing to access the internet) or such an activity.
i hope the developers of this type of operating system could add an update
to fix it.
