ABS Computer, Monarch Computer Systems

I'm trying to decide whether to build my own PC or have someone such as ABS Computer or Monarch Computer Sytems build one for me. Have you worked with ABS Computer or Monarch and if so what do you think of them and their PCs? From what I read on www.resellerratings.com, ABS Computer seem to have a quality problem. Also confirmed the same thing in a PC Magazine review. Any other recommendations for a competent PC builder? Thanks for your comments.

Hi David,

I personally like building my own machine because I find it fun and it's challenging. Plus, I decide exactly what I want in it and it indirectly helps keep me up with current technology, since I personally research every component that goes into my machine from the case and power supply to the motherboard and processor.

I do not have any direct experience with ABS or Monarch Comuputer. However, Resellerratings rated KC computers, http://www.kc-computers.com, a perfect 10. They do build custom computers.

On building your own, it might depend on how much experience you have. Most people seem to do fine. Check out some sites on comptering building.

Thanks for suggestion kc-computers to me. I haven't purchased anything from them yet, but so far working with Kevin of kc-computers has been great. I'll post again here if I buy from him.

If I don't build my own I buy it from Monarch. Absolutely Top-notch. They aren't teh fastest show in town, but they do it right. The biggest thing is that they are absolutely fanatical abotu customer service. I posted on reseller-ratinsg.com after getting my system from them. I posted that they did wonderfully, but ordering on their site could be somewhat imposing if you are a noob to computers. Well that sunday at 10:30PM their time, Im on west coast so it was 7:30 here, I receieved a phone call from one of Monarchs representatives, from his home no less (caller id ) and he wanted to know what my suggestions were to improve their site. I tossed some out, and a couple of the smaller things I suggested were done by Monday the following day (dumb stuff liek increasing case selections and power suplies for sifferent systems). Now if that isnt a company who cares about what their customers think I don't know what is.

If you are unwilling to build your own system I wholeheartedly reccomend going with Monarch. BTW...ABS is a great company to.
