patch issues

im having trouble patching my battlefield 2 game. you see, i get this error message saying i need 3 gig. so i freed up 3 gig and the patch still refuses to run?? i cannot make anymore space on my drive and i need the patch to play multiplayer. could you help me out? im trying to patch the game to version 1.12. my computer exceeds th recommeded requirements for the game so its proboblyy not my comp. ive talked ea and all they have done is tick me off with a bouch of bs about creating new admin, messing withmy regestry etc. so i wil ask u guys: is there any way to patch my game on my other partions( they have plenty of space) or am i screwed? :?: any help would be appriciated

yes i have... ive even done disk cleanup and disk defragmenter be fore starting the install program for the patch. this still results in the same message though.
