Which OS is best for games?

Im wondering which OS is faster for gaming ? What do you guys think? Windows XP Pro or Windows 2000 Pro ?

hey janka, you are no good with PCs I might say if you can't get ME to run well, and all of you that are spraying pooop about it. It is more stable than 98 in my kid's case, and he runs all his games on it, and IT IS faster than 98.

If your going to play older games,eg.(1998/99/00) Rogue Spear, etc, 98SE is the one you want although some other older games like Half-Life run excellent with XP.

With Win2k you will have a lot of compatibility issues. Also in Win XP Pro, and even in compatibility mode. Still XP is prefered because it simply brings less compatibility issues than Win 2k.
For example Anachronox(it's not very popular, but it's the best game I've ever played) runs perfectly on XP, alltough it only supports Win 9x and Me. Not the same goes for Win 2k, where it crashes running the first video.
