I just bought a Dell Latitude CP M233ST and I found it to be noisy. As
soon as I switch it on it makes a continuous buzzing sound which does
not end until you switch off the laptop. I mentioned this problem to
the seller and he said this problem is known with this model. He
claimed the plastic is very thin and it’s the hard disk that is
making the noise. To prove this point he told me to boot the computer
without the hard disk, IBM TRAVELSTAR DJSA-205 5 GB. Without the hard
disk it did not make a noise. Is it a faulty hard disk or this dell
model is known to make a buzzing noise? I found that under device
manager the hard disk is noted as GENERIC IDE TYPE5. Can the noise be
from that the incorrect driver is used? Does anyone know where I can
get the right driver? I would really appreciate your help since the
owner will not return my money.
