bad motherboard on Dell Inspiron3800

Please help. The motherboard on my Inspiron 3800 went bad, of course after warranty. They tell me the replacement part is $600!!! Can anybody point me in the direction of a cheaper replacement. The CPU is a P3 650. Thanks in advance. E-mail me at scnowlin@cox.net.

The 3 year warranty on laptops is ALWAYS worth it.

What part of it is dead?

Don't feel special - my 3800 is on it's thrid motherboard in two years. It's a Dell only part so unless you can find someone with a dead 3800 (but with a good m/b) you're probably out of luck. Ask in the Dell support forums.
