When does Dell rotate their specials?

I've got to order a Latitude D510 within the next week or so, but I'd
like to catch the latest 'deal'. Anyone know when Dell changes the
'deal of the week'? I had a reference system in 'my saved systems',
which is supposed to be good for 30 days, but it's disappeared. 8*|

Thanks!

Don't hold me to it, but what they were doing when I ordered my PC
was to have a different deal weekly, four different deals in a month's
time, and then start repeating the same four (basic) deals. I also noticed
that one of the deals (one week out of every month) was significantly
better than the others...you might want to track what's going on for a
month or so if you have the luxury of choosing when to buy.

I believe they usually change on a Thursday but I think some of them start
on a Friday (the newspaper ad deals??). I configured my computer with every
deal possible to see which one came up with the best price. Also, make sure
you comb the internet for coupons (just enter "Dell coupons" in Google). I
bought my computer over the Labor Day weekend and found coupons for 35% off
and another one for an additional $50 off. Most of those coupons are only
good for online purchases though.

Speaking generally, it appears that many of these 'outrageous deals' systems
have the absolute minimum amount of warranty, and will almost always require
2-3 HW upgrades to be suitable for many folks.

And on Latitude, when you move from a 1 year mail-in to a 3 year onsite
warranty, that's a chunk of money:

I may be wrong, but the specials don't seem as aggressive as they were even
6 mos. ago.

Yeah, Dell seems to be obscuring their price by playing with warranty
terms, details, etc. Doesn't exactly endear me to them. 3-year
mail-in isn't bad, though, and since it'll have to come by me in the
event of a problem anyway that's not too onerous.

Before I bought, I followed www.techbargains.com for the deals and coupons
and found them to be quite helpful...there are other such sites that do the
same
thing. As I remember, the best of the deals was the once-a-month free
shipping
+ other free goodies. Dell is quite pricey on shipping (some systems can
cost
over $100 for shipping).
