Asus A7V333 is running DDR333 at 266!

I just got an A7V 333 motherboard. Everything works great except for the memory. My 2 512 mb of corsair pc2700 memory run at a bus speed of 2x133, not 2x166!

In the bios, there is an option: "CPU/memory bus frequency ratio". I have set this to 4/5. Since my CPU bus is 133, the memory bus should be (5/4)x133 = 166. But SiSoft Sandra reports my memory bus at 133, and its bandwith scores are in around 1950, which I think is pretty much in line with pc2100. Changing the bios setting I just mentioned to 'auto' or '1/1' has no effect on the benchmarks.

This is bull%$#$!!!!!! I spent $430 on this memory and I don't want it running underclocked.

Anyone else have a similar problem?? What should I do??

Try running it at CL2 if it can handle it. If not, raise the DDR voltage a bit and get it to 166MHz CL (CAS) 2.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

It's running at CAS2 now, that's not the problem.
The problems with the bus speed.

Do you agree my benchmarks are low for pc2700?

i hate to say this, but it's probably the memory.. Mine did the sasme thing, till i got it replaced.... my local supplier said (quote) "We've had that a lot just recently.. must have been a bad batch..." (/quote)

Also, The A7V333 likes to set itself to 266.. Althoug the latest Bios patch seems to fix that....

Madness is a state of mind.

Fenn, I just built my PC and have the same problem. My specs:
XP 2000
A7V333
512MBs Samsung PC2700 x 1
My processor is still locked, and the multiplier is stuck at 12.5 (12.5*133=1663). Do you think it could be because of the processor mutiplier that we cannot change FSB speeds? I tried to set the FSB at 166 and the computer would'nt run, so I had to set it back.
