I have only 2 options in BF2 for my sli mode Gainward 512mb 7800GTs and it only shows 800 x 600 and 1024 x768 for my 23 inch apple HD moniotr when this monitor is capable of going up to 1900 x 1200 and on my old system this monitor went and showed allsorts of resolutions at diff refresh rates im on nvidias 81.98 patch too.

any ideas?

Can we just clarify:

You can get all the resolutions from within Windows, but not within BF2?

This would suggest to me that it's a problem with BF2 not liking your SLI setup?

no what it is is the monitor on an older motherboard and on an ati radeon 9600xt went and has 800 by 600 1024 by 768 1280 by 1024 and others
now on an asus mother board and 2 gainward geforce 7800GT 512mb cards and only resolutions i get given in desktop are 800 by 600 1024 by 768 1600 by 900 and 1900 by 1200 so when i go into game BF2 i only get 800 by 600 and 1024 by 768 at 60hz refresh rate, now this monitor is capable of loads more resolutions now is it that the drivers at this time wont support the resolutions? my monitor is an apple 23 inch HD monitor and i dont have a driver disk, its in plug and play mode last time on my old foxconn winfast k8s mobo i did not need to install drivers and that picked up more screen resolutions, im just wondering is it my graphics cards or my screen or summit in my bios or what coz i dont have the foggiest. :x

thats one solution but just so you know it aint resolution it sets just the size. i've tried that on my old laptop and it just stretches the image to fill that size. it does not make anything any more refined. you can acheive the same results by disabling fixed aapect ratio. bf2 does NOT support widescreen. to my knowledge there aint no patches or ways to force it. it is just a badly made game and the makers believe it is still 1995.

i stil play it though :)

My BF2 looks best with that...

its ok i have solved it in some ways the dual 7800 GTS on this apple 23 inch screen, in the nvidia toolbar on advanced in properties i clicked the advandced tab and there is an option in there to set any resolution anysize up to 2048 by summit or other on a refresh rate of 230hz its just a matter of adding your own resolutions the ones u want an i mean ANY that you want i got some strange sizes but all the ones i really use i got 32 different sizes all look really good on destop especially on BF2!

thanks for all your support though
