You got the CPU, but you need to upgrage your card and get 2 gb of ram. As I've said many times before, if you want a better result then you gonna have to ugrade. :D

whilst a 128 mg graphics card may be holding you back, as long as you aint trying to use AA or really high res's it should be fine. the problem is them maps, there so big even in a 32 player one that you need the ram for the textures.

If i were to get a 7800 GT, with 1 gig, would i see more of an improvement than 2 gig and a 6800 128mb?

oh no no no, no max settings, just high.

2gb of ram's what you need. You may be able to max it out then.
BF2 needs over a gb to run smoothly. I've seen the figure 1.2gb elsewhere
is needed.

I think the problem is your internet connection. Make sure you have the correct setting selected. I once had it set to T1 accidently and the performance was terrible. Be sure to reset your router.

As for everything else, I think it should be fine at 1024x768 w/ no AA.
I play 1024x768 high/custom settings w/ 2AA with my 6600gt and there is only a little lag at the very begining. The cards should be comperable with when you don't run AA.

good luck

So everyone here thinks the video card (geforce 6800 128mb) i have is fine, 2 gig IS the answer?

I have two 7800 GT I needed 2 gigs. I ran 6800 on old system had to get 2 gigs. your GPU is fast enough. Whats a gig 70 bucks. A new card that is alot better is alot more. First step 2 gigs cheaper or... go in task manager and shut down a bunch of crap and be sure to defrag
