That's awesome, but I think they overshot too far. Like what happened between BF2 and 2142? Peace? They should have made something like a 2080 scenario or something like world war 3. What's next Battlefield Star Trek?!
LOL...well actually, I haven't played any of the BattleField games, so I have no idea as to how any of them are related. I just put that up there because I figured others would be interested.
I embellish a little but battlefield 2 isn't team orientated unless you join a clan, no one uses the inbuilt com system which is actually really great and games mostly revolve around hanging around vehicle respawn sites to grab the tank/chopper/plain of your choice.
It's not all bad though just gets very repetitive very soon.
As for Gal Civ II it's a damn hard game but I'm still playing playing it. I must say it still suffers from the usual "expand empire until you no longer know what your doing" problem which puts me off these kinda games but hell it's still alot of fun especially the fact that it contains a function whereby you can design you own ships from the ground up which is a great feature.

That's OK. I have a short attention span anyway. This is why I didn't buy the expansion pack - I'll probably only play the game a few times before I lose patience with the game and my own ineptitude.

At least it's turn-based, so you got to do as much as you want before you move on. I tried playing Imperium Galactica, but there was just too much to do - I ended up pausing it every minute or two, which somewhat defeats the purpose of an RTS...

Master of Orion 2 had that feature too - it was great fun building uber-ships (minuaturise until you can get half a dozen stellar convertors on a Doom Star - bring it on!). And in MOO you also got to direct the combat - admittedly only in 2D, but it was still fun (although a bit tedious when you had a LOT of ships)

I played the game from launch, and the in-game comms is only good for listening to drunk ass-clowns blab so much that you can't hear the enemy sneaking up behind you. It was way more useful to get some friends and use TeamSpeak.
