Hi there...
You have your choice of exporting from the registry.
You can create system restore points (although this does not include
some things such as your documents, etc...)

You can use the NT backup program...if not installed on your system
(usually the case in XP Home)...you can install it from the XP Home
disk.
To do this:
Insert the Windows XP Home disk, and run NTBACKUP.MSI (may be called
Ntbackup) program from the folder:
D:\Valueadd\msft\ntbackup where D is the letter of your CDROM Drive (or
whatever the letter you have). This will launch the Windows Backup
Utility Installation Wizard, which will install the utility
automatically. When it is finished, click "Finish."
You should then find it under All Programs, Accessories, System Tools or
just All Programs, Accessories.

One thing to know if using the NTBackup Program from MS off the disk is
that it is a two step process in Windows XP Home. You must first back
up to your hard drive before you can backup to other media.

Commercial Programs such as:
WinRescueXP
BackUp Plus
If you have a CD/RW drive...you can use programs such as Ahead's Nero or
Easy CD Creator, etc...
and many others for XP...all pay or shareware.
Take Care...

I assume you mean third party utilities. There are some that will do
incremental backups of the registry, so you can restore the registry as
far back as you need it. Among the programs that do that are Eazy Backup
and Backup Genie.
