Hi, I am at the stage of ripping my hair out and I am bald to start with.
:-)
Played around with computers for some time, built a 486 with windows 95,
built a cellern 300 with windows 98 and changed and upgraded sound cards and
graphics many times.
This time I thought I would buy one ready made k7ne Delta motherboard AMD
Athalon 2500 processor 512 ram, DVD reader writer etc. Window XP home
edition. I will use my existing monitor, printer, scanner, mouse etc.
I got the computer home and connected my Pnp external modem, Pnp monitor ps2
mouse and ps2 keyboard. Loaded office 2000 in and set up for Freeserve
anytime. I also have Pc-cillin 2000 set to run with all options including
the personal firewall.
Most of the time things are ok. But one in five times of booting I says
there is a problem and gives me various options it will reboot and then on
loading tell me there was a serious system failure, I send these to
Microsoft and get back that there is a driver failure.
NOW the only thing I have connected is the external modem and that is Pnp
and even checks out on the modem test. Help! I don't know what to do. Any
help at all will be appreciated
Mike
