Hey!
Im having a problem installing windows xp. During "loading devices" in setup, the installation freezes and goes no further..?

When i check system compability with the windows xp-cd (running win98) it says that my videocard Asus G4 Ti4600 is not digitaly signed..?

Now i wonder if this is the reason for the setup hangup?
And is there any way to fix this?

well there are 3 or four places you can get a video driver.

one is the card manufacturer
one is Nvidia
one is microsoft
one is the cd that came with the card.

the microsoft one is the only one that is usually digitally signed, it really means that they garentee it won't break stuff. but its normally worse i think.

i personally use the latest driver from my manufacturers website, i choose not to use the nvidia one because my particular card has a few features my cards manufacturer seems to have better interfaces for.

you might need to try the various drivers and see which one works best, but your problem might not have anything to do with it. digital signing is nothing amazing.

I cant install xp cause it hangs early in the installation, hence i cant install any drivers..

Digitally signed, means that the hardware(my video card) is checked for its compability with windows xp..

if it is hanging during installation then it can't be the drivers, (because none are loaded) it runs on the default failsafe protocol that will work on all video cards.

i am sorry but i cannot help with the install issue, except to tell you it won't be the vid drivers.

One thing you might be able to do. Grab a more generic type vid card like one from a Dell machine or what ever you can find and use it to try and get XP installed. Then switch out the cards and address the drivers.

....WW (4.0)

Install M/Bs AGP Drivers first

Then Install Direct X 9.0B

Then install the latest Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia website and you shouldn't have a problem, it doesn't matter whether the drivers are signed by Microsoft, overide XPs negative not signed complaints and install the drivers anyway, Nvidia has tested the drivers for all the Operating systems they're available to download, for and they do work.
