Is it choppy in single-player as well? If so, then it's the program at fault. If it's fine in single player but bad in multi-player then it's your connection or the server.
Once you've determined the fault we can put our heads together to try and fix it
yeah, you need a very low ping so its not choppy (< 100 constantly, no internet usage from other pcs).
I've found that i can actually increase the quality slightly at the same frame rates.
even though 1.22 didnt fix all the problems i still find it actually is still an improvemint performance wise.
Also update the drivers. I had to update mine (nvidia ones) in order for everything to work smothly
Probably your RAM. Try turning down settings or restrciting yourself to small and medum maps. Apparently BF2 on high settings needs around 1.5Gb of memory on large maps. Since you have 1Gb of RAM, it'll be using 0.5Gb of your page file, which is slower than your RAM and probably causing the choppiness.
You might get a slighter better performance if you can give your hard drive a good defrag - including the page file.
Your ping is not always an indicator of connection quality. You may also be getting choke and packet loss.
When you say the game is laggy do you mean as in the game is running slowly or are you lagging as in conection speed drops?
Nevermind my opinion on the game I don't play BF2 cos their netcode is a joke as far as I'm concerned. Connection interuptions, ping spikes and so on. Rubbish.
hmm i tryed medium - high settings , its good now , but i would like to run on high
ima buy More Ram
thx for the help guys
also when i got the patch , i played with default setting and when i was playing i would move the mouse fast and the Gun - crosshair would stay there for a second or two then it would move to where i pointed the mouse
but it dont do that anymore since i lowered my settings a bit
