Hi, I've just bought an A7V333 and it takes about 45 seconds to detect my HDD. (CDRW and DVD are instantenious) I have to disable fast post and wait for 2 full memory counts before my system can see the hdd and boot.

setup is:
primary master: auto (hdd=60GB 7200rpm)
primary slave: none
secondary master: auto (dvd)
secondary slave: auto (cdrw)

Anybody else had this problem? Found a solution???

Go into the bios and set all drives to 'auto'

try booting with DMA enabled and then disabled.
see if that makes a difference.

check the jumpers on the HDD and make sure that its 'master' or slave but not cable select.

reseat the drive cables or swap it with another.
are you using the proper 80wire ata66 cable?

also, do you have the latest motherboard BIOS?
if not i suggest you head on over to the motherboards website and flash your bios.

apart from that im outta ideas.
