I was thinking of buying the similar linksys router, but a coworker just point this one out to me. SMC SMC7004ABR Cable/DSL Router with 4 Port Switch. Does anyone have any expierece with this company/router? I'm looking to buy very soon and can get this for $40!!!

it'll do the job fine, plus it's nice having the printer port. where are you getting it for 40?

You can get it from microcenter with two rebates that total $40 off...do you have direct expierence with this router? I know it will do the job, but i'm trying to decide if it is better than the equivalent linksys (which i've toyed with in the past and really liked).

yes, I've used it. No better and no worse than the Linksys BEFSR41

I use the smc router and i have no problem with it and the printer server is handy. Your choice.

There's a few posts on that router in their forum. I was going to go for that router, but someone mentioned a known issue, but I'm afraid I can't remember it. I think it had something to do with BT or something.

I've ordered the Netgear DG814. Hopefully it's up to the job.

I own it.
Wouldn't buy it again.
If you do get it, don't forget to upgrade the firmware. Makes a big difference.

Why wouldn't you buy it again? Security issues? Difficult to configure?
