2.SoyoTek K7V-DRAGON ULTRA, VIA KT333 Chipset, DDR333+RAID+5.1SND+LAN $170 (confused on why it says k7v cause the is no k7v dragon ultra, only a kt333 dragon ultra)

3.80.0GB 7200RPM MODEL # 6L080J4 - OEM, DRIVE ONLY - Ultra ATA/133 $118 (thoughts on maxtor, good bad, Definetly want a ata/133 though)

4.Leadtek Winfast Geforce4/GF4/TI 4400 / TI4400 128M/DVI/TV. RETAIL BOX. $244

5. Ok another problem i want a monitor that is 17in crt .20
I found 2 good ones both samsung but they a bit different here they are.
A. 17IN/16V 24MM 1600X1200 65HZ DYNA FLAT SYNCMASTER 755DF A $182
B. SYNCMASTER 765 MB 17inch 16VIS .20MM 16X12 68HZ $209

6. Samsung 512MB PC3200 400Mhz DDR SDRAM CAS 2.5 CL2.5 32x8 unbuffered, 184pin $187

It all looks good to me. RAID 0 might boost performance a little, plus since it's a gaming PC you probably don't care much about redundancy/reliability.

AFA monitor, a friend of mine has the 955DF and it's a gorgeous monitor. Go with that one (19") of you can. Otherwise I'm guessing the 755DF is the same one only 17" so you'll be happy with it.

It's always the one thing you never suspected.

Hey K,

May 8th 2002 Prices from www.newegg.com

1) Athlon XP 2000+(OEM):$171

2) Epox 8K3A+:$110 or MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU $128...both have no on-board LAN

3) Maxtor Quiet Drive 80 gb 7200rpm HDD ATA133:$115(Maxtor is the only ATA133 HDD so far)

4) Gainward GeForce4 TI 4400 Golden Sample:$269

5) SamSung Dynaflat 700IFT 17":$189

6) OCZ 512mb PC3200 DDR Cas 2.5:$183 or OCZ 512mb PC3000 DDR Cas 2.0:$165. Samsung is making the best high speed DDR right now,& all OCZ is, at this flavor is hand picked Samsung memory modules on their 6 layer board.

7) OCZ Goliath SE HSF:$25 or Thermal Intergration Dr. Thermal V77N(Loud fan, for over-clocking):$19

8) Artic Silver III thermal grease 1cc tube: $6

9) Raidmax Mid-Tower case:$20 or Raidmax Aluminium case A228:$72

10) Enermax EG465P-VE 430 watt dual fan PS:$81 or Raidmax Blue 400 watt dual fan Aluminium PS:$68

Your list looks very good. My list(without shipping charges) is all from one retailer that I use & trust. The reason that I wouldn't get the Soyo mobo is based on price, if you need the LAN, they only cost $9-15 for a D-Link or Linksys Card. All the new GeForce 4 TI 4400 cards are very good, the Leadtek is a very good card, I just like the Gainward Brand & thinking. About the Monitor, why not get a 19"? For high speed DDR the only way to go right now is Samsung or OCZ. When you get a case, get a case with cooling in mind, also forget about the cheap PS that they come with & get a good 400+ watt PS from a good PS manufactuer. Sounds like fun! Good Luck on your system!

Peace Out............tile

It would be nice if everyone gave too much information about their system & problems.

PC3200 is useless right now, you are far better off getting a module that is CL2 instead of 2.5.

Maxtor has been much better of late, so it should be a good choice, but dont go with them just cuz they have ATA133 as it means NOTHING at all as the drive cant go anywhere near that fast! The fastest hard disk out now is the Western Digital "special edition" 8meg cache drives.

Jesus saves, but Mario scores!!!
