Looks sweet.  Now if when the price of the cards drops a bit ($300 is a tad too much), I'll probably jump on board.

Is there any official launch date for this physics card?

no but there are a few posts about spouting dates. you can get the card now if you buy a prebuilt system, but not separatly.

I bought the BTX PPU last Friday from Newegg.  I hope it comes tomorrow or Wednesday.  I bought Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends Friday and the graphics are great w/o the PPU on my 7800GTX.  I'm actually abstaining since completing the second mission until I get my new toy installed.  I really enjoy the story, creative units, and game play.

There are too many reports that are contradictory. Some say the card helps games others say it slows them down. Besides, until the price comes down a bit, it is better to have the best GPU out there and go with that. .. Unless you have extra money that is!

Ageia Physx cards sound like the way of the future, but ATI is working on a new video card that will have it's own Physics card built in, this seems like a more realistic approach specially the ppl running SLI, 3 things sticking out is not what I would consider effecient and all the heat they create. The perfect time to buy is when windows Vista comes out. WHY upgrade from our wonderfull XP? We'll they have Direct X-10, and u'll need an direc x-10 card, and guess what windows xp won't be dx10 compatible. Smart desition into forcing gamers to upgrade.

I watched the demo for UT2K7 with the Ageia installed and one thing that was very cool was the ability to blow up mountains/archways and have them fall on/damage a passing vehicle.

That was cool but not $300.00 cool...

I wonder if the same things happen in the game if the Ageia is not there and just don't look as good/fluent?

ATI/NVIDIA are both looking into the onboard/using second card for physics..  This would be the better option for me...  Use the second card for physics in certain games and SLI/Crossfire in others...???
