I found an old Microsoft Precision Pro (model # X03-57540), game port style. My computer only has USB, so I went to Radio Shack and found a USB to game port adapter (model # 26-728, with the switch set on "Joystick B", changing to any of the 4 hardware settings doesn't make a difference). It recognizes the joystick, but it won't calibrate. I'll click on the "Calibrate" option and it just automatically speeds through everything, and on the test window the buttons light up on their own and it won't respond to anything.
I had this problem with a cheap joystick I purchased before, and that was direct USB. Anyone else have these problems? I'm running XP Home and the MS website is of no help whatsoever. It seems like it's recognized so I think this might be a software issue. Has anyone had a similar problem and been able to find a good solution? I've even gone down to the BIOS and taken off high-speed USB and kept on Legacy support, didn't seem to do anything though. This is frustrating because it's a nice stick that's in great shape but my computer doesn't seem to want anything to do with it!
