Does GTA2 work on Windows XP???

I have GTA2, and I still like to play the game.... I works on my old system PIII with windows 2000. However it does not work with my new system with windows XP Pro (will install but will not play). I know its an old game but I would like to play it with mulitplayer.

Is it a windows thing or is it a hardware thing?

I know, just go to the rockstar site and there you can download GTA2 for free and it is tweaked to work under windows xp (the one you download there doesnt work anymore under win98 for an example).

Youy might need to underclock your proc in order to play it i did with Half-life.
