I know there's lots of threads running for Oblivion at the moment but I was hoping someone would take the trouble to recommend settings for this particular rig:
- Athlon 64 3500+
- Radeon X800XT PE 256MB (AGP)
- 2GB RAM
- Audigy2 Platinum
- Western Digital WD3200JD SATA HDD
- 19" TFT monitor (1280x1024)

When you start the game run auto-detect and it will configure setting to your PC no?

And even if someone as the same exact PC as you you probably wouldnt get the same results depending on what sh!t you have on your PC.

Instead of trying to find a quick fix just experimente on your own.

I have experimented with the settings. I was just wondering if someone else had found a good balance between visual quality and high frame rates that could be informative. Thanks anyway

Download Fraps. Then go onto the game CD and read the file there that explains which settings can be reduced and their consequences. Also, check out the reviews at Anandtech. Start at their high/medium settings and go from there.
