I am having a problem getting my 7vrx to run in CL2.0. I have 256MB Corsair 2700 CL2 (the same that is run in the pc2700 tests). I can run it in CAS2.5 with no problem, but if I change it to CAS 2 it won't boot. This problem was mentioned in the review on Feb 20, 2002 about DDR333 Mobos, but I have never heard any fixes or correct configs that make this work.

"In our laboratory tests, however, we were unable to get the hand-picked memory module (PC2700) from Corsair (CM64SD256-2700CX2H) to run in CAS latency mode CL2.0 at 166 MHz memory clock, regardless of the motherboards we used (Asus A7V333, MSI KT3 Ultra, Gigabyte GA-7VRXP and the VIA reference board VT5615A). When set to CL2.5, there were no problems."

Maybe I missed something

My major specs are:
Gigabyte 7VRX
AMD 1800+
Corsair 256M PC2700 CL2 (CM64SD256-2700CX2H)
WD 30G 7200
Geforce 4 4600
Creative Aureal Internal

whoa, what's the deal with that? I ordered up some CL2 ram and it cost me about 20 bux more than the 2.5. Did i just waste 20 bucks? I intend to put a 512MB corsair CMX512-2700C2 module in. What's the point of having DDR333 w/ CAS2if it won't run?

I have seen no reference anywhere else about not being able to use the CAS2. Every review says that the CL2 is so much faster than the 2.5. I assume there is some way of correcting this since they are benchmarked on CAS 2.
There are no driver updates for this from Gigabyte.
I hope I am just missing some BIOS setting or something.

Come on. I have seen countless reviews on this board with this exact memory (including on Toms Hardware)and it usually receives the highest rating of all the boards wit the KT333 chipset. Someone has to know how to fix this.
