Will a Silverado HSF fit on a Gigabyte GA-7VRXP?

I am currently rounding up parts for a new Athlon XP 1800+ (maybe even 2000+) system, and I was wondering if the Noisecontrol Silverado HSF will fit onto the new Gigabyte GA-7VRXP mobo? I know that the Silverado is a bit wide...also, will this cooler be adequate(sp?) to cool an XP 1800 or 2000? I will be using Arctic Silver III thermal grease. Thanks a bunch!

That's a beast of a HSF, if it won't cool (at normal settings) it then nothing will . Should support a decent amount of overclocking too depending on ambient room temp and case fans etc.

you will need a bit of room around the chip for a beast like that to sit on it, but to be honest i've never seen that particular setup.

Does that mobo have mounting holes around the socket? The Silverado uses these holes.

It does? On all the pics it showed just the standard clips being used

Sorry, my mistake. I guess I was thinking of one of the Zalman heatsinks.
