Well, at least Dr. Pabst can rest more easily now. In the article http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q2/020506/p4b-01.html it sounded like no one would see official support for PC1066 with an i850E motherboard. But according to Asus http://usa.asus.com/inside/p4t533-c.htm:

The ASUS P4T533-C offers up to 2GB of PC1066/PC800 RIMM support via 4 RIMM slots for flexible scalability.
So if Asus gives official support for PC1066 with the i850E chipset, then the world is good again. After all, if there were a problem with the mobo, we wouldn't return it to Intel. We'd return it to the manufacturer, Asus. So who cares if Intel doesn't officially support PC1066 if Asus does...
And obviously the board comes with USB2 ports as well. So now Dr. Pabst can sleep a little more soundly, knowing that despite Intel's official support, motherboard manufacturers are giving official support to the technology that rocks. The world is a better place.
The ASUS P4T533-C comes with official PC1066 support, USB2, and even onboard sound and LAN.
