Does anyone know where I can get some info about this upcoming chipset? It looks like what I might want to go with when it comes out and I want to have all of the information that I can about it.

Uh, it looks like it will only support single channel DDR400, which would be fine for a NW "A" at stock speed but would not scale evenly upward to "533" from "400". The 655 will support DDR266 at dual channel, perfectly matching the bandwidth of the "533" bus, and overclocking beyond "533" will be easy on that chipset by using higher speed memory, such as DDR333, at the "overclocked DDR266" setting.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

Um, doesn't the SiS 645DX already support DDR400? The P4S533 (which has the SiS 645DX chipset) definitely does.

Yes, it supports DDR400 "unofficially", but all the reviews I've seen said that DDR400 works perfectly on the 645DX.

OK, well, we still need Dual Channel DDR to get to the same bandwidth as the new "533" bus offers, which can be easily accomplished with dual channel PC2100, and higher bus speeds could be accomplished with dual channel PC2700 at the same ration on the same dual-channel chipset simply by maintaining the same ratio.

I'm planning on having my computer completed before the school year starts, so I'm just going to have to go with the best chipset out by July, and I don't know if the 655 will be out by then. July is in Q3, when the 655 is supposed to come out, but it also might come out in August or September. If I'm lucky, the 655 will be out by July.
