brand new Inspiron 6000 and random paterns on display

Hi all,

I have recently bought an Inspiron 6000. I have a problem with the
video card I guess. When I change setting to a lower res and the back
to the higest resolution I am getting random patterns on the screen.
The patterns show only when certain applications are run i.e vs.net.
They show only when I do the change, after a reboot they do not appear.
I had my video card replaced but that did not help. I am also concerned
that bios reports my video card as having only 32 MB of ram, even
though I bought ati x300 64mb is it normal?
It is a brand new system with a factory instaled system.

My configuration is Pentium M 725, Ati radeon x300 64mb wsxga+ display.
