Any new AMD chipsets for Thoroughbred or Barton?

Hey all,

I'm interested to see how far AMD can take the new Thoroughbreds and Bartons. I'm not a fan of VIA chipsets (long story), but I'm curious if AMD is planning any homegrown chipsets for these processors.

I know about the 8151 for the Clawhammer Athlon, but I haven't seen anything on an interim chipset.

On a related note, isn't Barton just a Thoroughbred with a bumped-up L2 cache (0.13 micron with 512 KB)?

Thanks in advance,

Wiggum

Doubt it, currrent chipsets can support Tbred and Barton just fine.

And yes, Barton is just a Tbred with 512k of L2. They had planned SOI, but that was changed.

I too would like to see a new chipset, but I don't think there is one or we would know by know. But hey the 8151 looks great :-)

Crap, all the good ones are already taken.
