Define "disk".
If by disk, you mean "Floppy", does it read in other machines?
If by disk, you mean "CD", is it a CD-RW and what software did you use to
write it?
(Is that software on your XP machine and updated?)

Simply go to my computer,R.click the cdrom,or cdrw that has the cd installed,
select,open,R.click a folder or file,copy folder,then open in wordpad or notepad.
