upgrading 98 to ME with full ME?

Anyone know how to upgrade a win98/win98SE installation to ME using the full version of ME? I got the full version for the reason that I sooner or later want to do a full reinstall, but I want to start with an upgrade. But to my surprise, I find no information on how to upgrade with the full version. The old renaming win.com trick does not work.

Just put the cd in the computer and the autorun should start the WinME cd. It will say that an older verion of Windows has been found on your computer and it will as you if you want to update it. Click Yes.
But be warned, I have heard this is very bad. Most people I know have formatted and done a clean install less than a week after trying to upgrade because of all the problems this causes.
Try to upgrade, but be ready to format soon after.

Nope, that don't work. It tells me that this is a full version of ME and it can't be used to upgrade, and urges me to get the upgrade version... In swedish, of course...

That's strange, a full version should be able to upgrade as well as be used for full install. Mine said exactly what I told you, that it detected a older version of windows on my computer and asked if I wanted to upgrade.
I guess you will have to do a clean install.
Did you try going into windows explorer and just double clicking on the setup file? Does this give you the same message?
Also, try booting into dos and try running the setup from there, most of you current win98 files should be saved.

Yes, it is the original swedish full two-disk release. Although the second disk only contains totally unneccesary things. And regarding the other answers. I must confess I have not tried (yet) to run the install from within win98.
It will take a few days before I have any chance to test this though.
