WHY IS THERE SO MANY VERSIONS OF COUNTER-STRIKE... 1.0 SEEMS THE SAME ALL TO WAY 1.4 I THINK ITS JUST A WASTE OF TIME.IF YOU CAN TELL ME WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETEWEEN 1.0,1.1,1.2,1.3, AND 1.4 IT WOULD BE GREAT...THANK YOUUU

Bugs is the main difference
from 1.0 to 1.3 many maps were added (officially maps)
in 1.4 a new map de_chaos was added
in 1.5 the crosshair gets smaller when you get down and a new map was added I cant remember the name right now.

I think OpenGL and EAX sound support was added at 1.3 too

I play CS since 1.6 (about a year ago) so thats why i didnt have an answer

But will there come a version 1.7? Or is there no hope for that because cs:s is out?

I dont think so since they can upgrade CS via steam and fix anything so I dont think there is a hope for CS 1.7

I heard from a mate of my that the graphics of CS improved since 1.0 to 1.6. Is this true? And will they do that again?

Of course but Idk about 1.6 cuz I use 1.5 no steam shit
So when I started playing CS it was at 1.3 and I remember when I wanted to install CS 1.3 on each computer I was going to use CS, I first installed CS 1.0 to then upgraded to 1.3. And one day I decided to log into 1.0 and guess what? I almost killed myself with the quality I saw on 1.0 I even put OpenGL and the quality was the same worse! then I saw a big differecen in 1.3 and when I upgraded to 1.5 you know better quality was fixed because of new video card and all that stuff

PD: if you remember you could play CS 1.0 and 1.1 on Pentium II system but quality was to kill yourself

Why don't you look up the patch readme's and they will tell you all you need to know.

Well you know what?
If you try to install CS 1.5 like the 3 page will tell you system requirements and changelogs. Of course the changelog starts from version 0.30beta (or something like that) because I read it once. But like is kinda long and sometimes from one version to another has too many changes and so many things that you dont understand that you just get bored and close it. That happened to me like half way.

Now of course is going to be hard now because version 1.5 is almost gone and people really dont care about important changes, if they see the words NEW MAPS they will download it no matter what.
