Hey guys,
Just wondering what people's experience is with these two companies in terms of motherboards. I'm thinking of geting one of them for a 2.26GHz P4. Giga has an ICH4 southbridge while Asus only has an ICH2. Does that make a big enough difference? Should I wait for the Gigabyte board to come out or go with Asus?
Thanx
Steve
The biggest deal of ICH4 is Usb 2, which asus came with it.
I bought the asus last weekend. The only problem I experienced is the following:
The machine ran into Cpu/memory synchronization error when CPU FSB is 133x4 and Memory frequency is 133x3 (533cpu/400memory). Luckily, I bought kingston 1066, which both run on 133x4 frequency. Don't know if this is a problem to my particular motherboard, but if you are buying p4t533-c, why buy PC800 memory?
