any one know how to unmute my mic in xp i can get into
the controls but when i go to unmute the mic nothing
happens any help appreciated :D

Microphones do not work unless used with a program that supports them..

Try speaking into the microphone :) Then, make sure the microphone is
installed - check your audio software: Control Panel/Sound and Audio
devices.
