I've just bought the game installed it fine, then when i try to load it. It gave me this message that it was missing some files from the FX folder. Found the files and unzip them to the folder. Game loaded ok and everything looked ok. Loaded my acct. BUT now everytime i try to enter a game to play, it loads it up fine and just before i can hit join in. I keep getting this message.
THIS SERVER ONLY ALLOWS PLAYERS WITH UNMODIFIED CONTENT TO JOIN. REVERT YOUR VERSION OF BAT. 2 TO CURRENT OFFICIAL VERSION TO JOIN.
ive tried joing different servers but just keep getting this message. :x
does anyone else have this prob.
I have no idea why it says i have a modified version. the only things ive added is their own stupid patches thats it. i haven't even downloaed any maps.
as far as playing the original bat2. it works fine, i've only got this message once but other than that it plays with no probs.
Can anyont tell me what i could do to fix this.
thanks.

u got to patch the game with the most recent patches. because when i installed special forces it reverted to the version 1.21, and servers are currently at 1.3, so either u install an incremental patch or the the 1.3 patch.

Use the "any version to 1.3" patch not the incremental patches.

Go to Fileshack.com and create a profile for free high-speed downloads and find the BF2 patch (any version to 1.3) patch and install it.
