I just upgraded a guy's mobo who had a KT7 with a bad BIOS. I got everything together and it all seemed to work fine. Until I tried to get online via the built in LAN. It didn't work. Then it worked. Then it didn't. I played around with the drivers then it worked again. I restarted. Then it didn't.

I had an old pci nic laying around and that works perfectly. I tried different hard drives, cables, operating systems (Win2k and Me). I even put in a different K7S5A and had the same problem! Sometimes it works, most times not. WTF?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anybody have any suggestions?

ECS K7S5A version 3.1a
AMD Athlon 900MHz
Micron PC133 SDRAM (2)128 DIMMS
WD 10GB HDD
Maxtor 80GB HDD
TNT2 Ultra 64MB AGP

I can't think of a good signature so I'll use this one.

Hmmm, sounds like an IRQ problem maybe, which is unusual for a non-VIA chipset, but it could also be a driver problem. First thing I would try is setting BIOS to PNP OS-NO.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?
