Hi Folks,

I am connected with a 56K modem. I also have a cable modem that worked fine
on my Win98 system. The cable modem is a Motorola 585100.

I know that my Local Area Network says Cable Unplugged. I do have the cables
connected properly.

Can someone tell me how to activate the network. I think that is why the
modem is not recognized.

Thanks a lot,

Bob

Does Device Manager correctly identify the NIC?

Hi Jerry,

I think it looks good. At least it shows no errors. I was not sure which
item was the NIC. This is a USB modem though and there are no errors in
device manager.

Hi Again,

I got it to work by connecting directly with an ethernet cable rather than
the USB converter.

Thanks,

Bob
