to be honest i never play any games that require a monthly fee, i just see no point in paying money for somehting that is a standard nowedays in other games, ok sory about that but thats what i think of it, and now back to the topic, city of heroes is diferent thatn wow( ok ok lol i know that thats obvious), but i ment that it depends on what game types/enviroments u like to play in, wheatehr u like fighting in cities, or in forests, deserts(natural enviroments) or manmade like the ones in city of heroes, second of all wow is more hm... i dont know how to put it but more medieval 
(ok i know its not ) but the feel of runing around with swords, and such is a bit different than the more"modern" fights in a city....hope this helped a bit
