This really breaks my heart but it looks like ET's been pushed out if 2006 all together. The game was set for a fall 2006 release but the dev team decided to push it out in 2007 to give them more room for testing. You can read the IGN article reporting the pushback here . This is kinda messed up cause i was really waiting to get my hands on this game and was interested to see how it would fare up to Battlefield 2142 since these two games would have been going head to head in the fall. Man, i feel like a lil kid left behind at soccer practice :(

Yeah, I can see where this is disappointing news. However, try to see the silver lining here: with more time for testing, the smart folks at Splash Damage will have ample time to release a real product. You know, avoid the bug-fest that was BF2.

EA/Dice and Id/Splash Damage seem to have lessons learned. EA/Dice is incorporating open beta testing, which will lead to less bugs. Schedule delays result in the same. :)
