I have an A7v. I just upgraded my chip from a Duron 650 to a T-bird 1.33. The bios sees it as a 1ghz. Can i change the bios settings to get it up or just leave it. If changeable, what would i change.

Thanks in advance, all these posts are amazing

bad choice!

the a7v is based on the kt133 chipset, and is limited to 100fsb, thus your 1.33 tbird will only run at 100 bus speed instead of 133, giving you the real speed of only 1000mhz.

you should have got a Athlon 'B' CPU... they are set up for 100fsb operation.

the ways to fix your dilemma are:
A. return the cpu and bet a athlon 'B' (not 'C')
B. get a new motherboard
C. 'overclock' and raise the cpu multiplier (will not be possible if the CPU is locked)
