Personally, I think it's a bad idea. I don't think it's needed, and it only adds cost, power consumption and heat. It's like adding another processor, from a power and heat perspective.
Yes that is somewhat true. but a good tube amp sounds better than digital any day. It has a much fuller ,warmer tone to it. Output this to a surround sound or nice amplifier and you have a great sounding system.
I couldn't disagree more. I hate the tube sound. But that's of course completely opinion, so it's just up to whoever is looking to buy it.
It just gets back to the whole analog vs. digital or records vs. CDs debate.
exactly... its specifically designed for a niche market, and there are people out there who appreciate that particular type of audio output (some of the makers did)
definately NOT for ye average consumer.

Truely silly, if someone wanted a tube amp on their system, they would be far better off to simply connect a normal home stereo tube amp to an unamplified high end sound card.
