I've read somewhere that MSI boards have been failing, sometimes up to 80% of them. Well, I just had my third board fail from them, this one lasting less than 2 weeks.
I don't understand how they stay in business. I remember reading that they changed their name from MicroStar to MSI because of their reputation for poor quality. I think that money would be better spent on improving their products.
Thanks for the opportunity to vent. Now to see what I can do, go for the fourth board or not.
The one that just failed was a K7T Turbo Limited Edition with Promise RAID. It was sent, as an RMA to a regular K7T Turbo that lasted 10.5 months. That was a replacement for a K7T Pro2A that lasted 8 months.
The 2 turbo boards are based on the KT133A chipset, the Pro2A on the KT133 chipset. What happens is the system will hang on bootup and then won't restart for several hours. The boards have diagnostic LED's on them and they all light up red, meaning a fried CPU. But the CPU will work when dropped into another board. Very frustrating.
