Radeon x1600 pro 512mb card & Quake 3

sys specs: d865perl, pen42.8, 2 gigs ddr, X-Fi newest drivers, and this vid card with the 6.6 drivers.

After installing this card I jump rite into some of my favorit games. Doom 3 looks great in ultra settings with great fps. I was able to turn Prey up all the way now. Turned it up in Battlefield 2 as well. But, with my old card I was getting over 200 fps in Quake 3. With this new card for some reason i am only getting 70 fps in Quake 3. I have tried everything. Com_maxfps 1000 still I only get 70. But no matter what rez I set it to it is the exact same, 70 fps and below. I even did a clean install of quake. With no patches it is doing the same thing. All patched up its doing it as well. I should be getting a lot more fps in q but I can not seem to find the problem. Anyone have any ideas or help would be great to hear. Thanx in advance
