I have installed an ABIT BD7II, and loaded drivers for integrated peripherals such as NIC, sound, etc. I see on the ABit driver CD, a seperate driver category named "Intel Application Accelerator". Does anyone know what this is? The ABit manual is very vague, other than screenshots of the driver install.

Thanks,

Bruce.

You should check out Intel's web site for full information and the latest version, etc.

Basically this is a piece of software that speeds disk access and other I/O operations on Intel chipset boards. It is supposed to be fairly effective.

Thanks for your help. I did install this driver software (v 2.1 on the CD), and later upgraded to v2.2 from the web-site.

Strangely, after I installed the Intel drivers, I now don't see the "Advanced" tab on the IDE 1 (or 2) item in DM. I don't know if this is normal. The worst part about this is not knowing what transfer mode (UDMA) I'm in. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks.

First check the Start Menu > Programs to see if there is a Intel entry present. If not, search for a "Intel" folder (probably in C:\) for you to run the program that allows you to view DMA status, etc.
