I've got a Soyo P4 Fire Dragon mobo with DDR266 Ram. I know I've got all the power connector wires on right, the power to the mobo is securely plugged in, etc. The heatsink and cpu were properly mounted/seated. The thing powers on for about 2 seconds and then shuts down on it's own. I've exhausted what I know how to troubleshoot. Anyone have any suggestions what else to look for?

If there's more than one set of pins for the CPU fan, try using the ones marked as FAN1 or something. Some mobos are designed to shut down if they detect that the CPU fan is not working, so if they're detecting an empty set of pins, they'll think it's stopped and kill the power, to prevent damage to the CPU. I think this can be turned off in the BIOS, but obviously you can't even get that far.
