One of my favorite games as a kid was an old SSI game called "Pool of Radiance" for the ever beloved Commodore 64.

About a year ago I found a software package that bundled all of the old SSI games for windows. Hoping to rekindle fond memories I of course purchased it. Problem is my computer runs entirely too fast for the game, I cannot read any of the text during the battle scenes and am completely lost. I had set the game aside until a few days ago as everyone keeps talking about retro games.

I have tried ROMS and don't want to go that route. I was wondering if there is a way to run these great games on windows and trick the computer into processing it much slower. Anybody know of an application that can handle this?
