On a new computer I have a new 40G ATA/100 HD (IBM) on IDE1, and a DVD on IDE 2 (both primary). I'd like to migrate an older 60G HD over from my existing computer, I believe ATA/66. If I put the 2nd HD as slave on IDE1, I believe I limit both HD's to ATA/66. Should I consider making the 2nd HD either master or slave on IDE 2? How would it colocate with the DVD?
Motherboard is an ABit BD7II, running WinXP (Home). I loaded the Intel Accelerator drivers last night and noted that the "Advanced" tab on IDE 1 (or 2) in DM has gone. is this normal? The worst part is that I now can't verify the UDMA mode. Any ideas?
